Have your say on the needs of Somerset children and young people with autismParents: Have your say on the needs of Somerset children and young people with autism

Somerset County Council have extended the consultation on needs for children and young people with autism and/or communication needs until the 14th February 2014. The response rate has been lower than expected and as hearing parents, children and young peoples views is so important to us we felt it best to extend the ammount of time to allow more responses to come in.

Parents of children with autism and/or communication needs are being invited to complete an on-line survey that will help Somerset County Council plan services for the future.

There are three surveys:

  • one for parents with the option to provide different responses for siblings if necessary
  • one text version for children and young people, and
  • a visual version for children and young people.

The online survey can be completed via the Council website www.somersetconsults.org.uk where there is the option to complete online, download the template and upload the response, or download the template and print and post the response.

If people wish to fill in a paper copy besides downloading from the website there is also the option to call Somerset Direct on 0845 345 9122 or text 07781 482858 with the message: Please send Autism Survey to [YOUR NAME] [ADDRESS] [POSTCODE] and a copy will be posted with a pre-paid reply envelope.

Anyone having problems should contact Gemma Pickford-Waugh, Children’s Commissioning Officer, Somerset County Council, on 01823 355234 or gpickfordwaugh@somerset.gov.uk
