This month’s edition includes:

  • Free School Meal take-up: Research indicates that the proportion of Somerset pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals but do not claim them is above national and regional averages.
  • Childhood Obesity: Latest figures indicate that levels of obesity in Somerset have fallen in Year 6 pupils and have remained static in Reception Year.
  • Active People Survey: The proportion of adults who regularly participate in sport or active recreation is increasing, although there are notable variations in terms of people’s age and socio-economic status.
